Jon & Kate + 8

For some reason, this show has been one of those events you can't help watch, like a train wreck or car accident caught on video.
My daughter started my wife on it a couple years ago. I have watched more episodes than I care to admit, but will say I have never turned the channel to it. I have been the "bystander" type viewer, i.e. in the room and wanting to spend time with my wife. I know that someday I will have to account to God for this time and totally count on grace covering this sin as well!
I did not see the most recent episode, but apparently it was announced the couple has separated and divorce proceedings beginning. I'm sad for the kids. I'm sad for the couple. But not surprised. Money, fame and a perception of power can bring out the worst in people. I know it would me.
Thank God I have avoided all three of those traps!

I believe there have been a lot of "passive" viewers who were "in the room". And hopefully 2 things have happened.
1. Most viewers have decided that this has become something they don't need to be a part of and will no longer be tuning in.
2. That Jon and Kate made good financial decisions so that when the ratings collapse and the show goes off the air and the money tree dies they'll be able to provide a stable life for the eight kids.
