Congrats Cards!

Although I posted messages of support for the Tigers, I am not sad to see the St. Louis Cardinals as the Champions of Baseball for 2006. It seems the formula the Tigers used to advanced to the World Series was used successfully against them - clutch hitting, solid pitching and good defense.. As the Tigers found out, you really DO need all three to be champs. While one out of three is a good average for a hitter and will make a player millions, the team can't do it when you are only getting solid pitching. You can't win a game zero to zero.
I mostly like the Cards players, too.
It's Tony LaRussa that gets to me. I am not sure but I feel like the guy has never missed an opportunity to let us know how smart he is.

Well, when someone dubs you a genius, run with it, I say. ;)
It's going to take a couple of days for this whole thing to sink in, I think..

I echo your sentiments. It pains me the NL won, but the team is mostly class. Larussa is brilliant, you can even ask him.

Hey, I got on this bandwagon before y'all -- except Bruce of course, who had his spring training hopes fulfilled.
