R.I.P FRT

hmm. we had two passings this week - James Brown and Gerald Ford.
One was heralded for his committment to progressive policies and bridge building. For bringing people together in unexpected ways.
The other was remembered for the mistakes and gaffes he committed while in the public eye and his troubles in his private life.
One was held up as a near deity in his field, a man of greatness.
The other was remembered affectionately, but it was his "mistakes" that were mostly discussed.
Interesting to me that a wife-beater with a history of domestic violence was in many ways better regarded than a decent man whose motivation can be seen now as doing what he thought was in the best interest of the country, even at his own expense.
I wasn't a Gerald Ford fan when he was president. But I think I respect him much more now.

Here's my list
! Guster - Ramona
@ Antje Duvekot - Landlady Song
# Victoria Williams - Periwinkle Sky
$ John Mayer - Your Body Is A Wonderland
% Marshall Tucker Band - Can't You See
^ Antje Duvekot - Guest Song
& Ryan Adams - Oh My Sweet Carolina
*Phish - Llama
( The Benjamin Gate - Do What You Say
) Stone Temple Pilots - Down
Happy NEw Year to all

RIP

It's always weird when you loose someone you've never met but have been a part of your entire life 'til they leave.

My dad's up there jamming with James Brown. I just know it.
