The Cubs may wear World Series rings before this guy does

Looks like another Boras client who thinks wearing pinstripes will automatically get him a ring. Read Gil LeBreton's column and see if you think Tex is already looking at himself in the mirror with a Yankee's cap on his head.

I like Teixeira and hope he stays with the Rangers. And I know losing gets old fast. Ask A-Rod. He figured going to NY would give him the legacy he craves. Instead it solidified the impression - right or wrong - that somehow A-Rod keeps clubs from winning in spite of the numbers he puts up. As I've heard it said, he's the MVP of 10 games out.....

And now it's sounding like Teixeira wants to join him at the stadium, especially since the Bronx Bombers look like they're in the market for a first baseman.

I was hoping Tex wouldn't get traded at the deadline. Now it's looking more and more certain that he'll be joining Sosa and Lofton and Gagne in the vets for prospects swap meet. If the Braves don't trade Salty to the Marlins for Willis I can see the Rangers looking to swap Tex for him. If not, I hope Tex knows the tune to I Love LA....

I've heard it too, although there is more and more chatter A-Rod will be gone. Andy Phillips has had some key RBI hits this week drving in runs for comebacks so if he can start producing like they hoped down the stretch, it will make things more interesting. I hope we stay with some of these young guys.

Yankees have always preferred proven vets over promising youngsters. The only time they stuck with the prospects was when they were first rebuilding after the disasters of the late 80's and early 90's. And the result was 4 World Series rings. Think the boss remembers?

the boss remembers the rings but not how they came about. besides, the rings in the 70/80s run weren't the result of their own, but rather the Yanks being the first willing to bust the bank in the infancy of free agency.

And hot 'lanta won the Tex derby this morning. i hope john daniels gets a chance to prove he can assemble talent and develop it. it seems the rangers are properly amassing arms; i only some of them turn out to be able to pitch. LAA proves that small ball can work, although having a Vlad in the middle of the lineup helps a lot

Man, I just saw the Royals are 1.5 games in front of the Rangers. That sucks. I mean, it really sucks.

Hope your non-baseball aspects of summer are going well.

If you had the Orioles & 26, YOU LOST! Wow. How did the Birds come out onto the field for game #2?
