Better than TV

I took delivery last Saturday of my new Harley-Davidson XL1200C. I was able to get just over twenty miles on it between that afternoon and Sunday morning before church. Then it started raining. Every night and afternoon this week. But last night the rain came earlier and ended quicker. So after dinner, just as darkness descended, I wheeled out of the garage and motored down the alley.

While the streets in the neighborhood were still wet in many places, I was so happy. I quickly remembered all the things I love about two wheeled transportation as I explored-
the smell of pipe tobacco coming from the man walking his dog...
the aroma of some late night dinners being prepped...
reefer smoke coming from the playground as I imagined the teens cloistered around the swings, shrouded in darkness and and with a buffer of a hundred yards in each direction disguising itself as protection from approach...
the distinct sound of upshifts and downshifts.

Way, way better than TV!

CONGRATULATIONS!! That is awesome. That's something I always wanted to learn, but between living in NYC & now LA, I figure I'd be taking an extremely grave chance. That, and the fact I push my Escort to 110. I'm afraid of what I'd do on a bad boy like that. I have to live vicariously on that count. Glad you can enjoy it so much. If you could ever get that rain to let up, it would really be nice.
