Back in Bama
I thought when Hannah graduated in May that I wouldn't be coming back to Tuscaloosa anytime soon. Three and a half months later, here we are, spending Labor Day weekend visiting. Turns out 'Bama had their home opener yesterday evening too. Football weekends in college towns are pretty interesting theater. Hannah and the tenants of the other 2 apts in this building are three blocks from Bryant-Denney Stadium, which with the dearth of parking surrounding it makes their back yard prime real estate. Unbelievable that they had no difficulty in rounding up 15 cars willing to pay $20 each; they could fit a few more in without trouble too, but the last car wanted to be sure they could get out after halftime without being blocked in. Plus her bf wanted to be done with it and get busy cooking and head to the game himself.
So, they banked a quick $100 per apt, and are making plans for how they will use the money from the rest of the home games. BF has his own set of season (Student) tickets for the games and is calculating what he can sell them for when LSU, GA and Tenn come to town. He expects getting several hundred for each of those games will not be a problem. He also has a second set of tickets that he purchased for $300 or something from another student. So he is pretty happy. A student's out of pocket expense for tickets is $45. For the season. $5 each. nice return, huh?
college kids need the money. Roll Tide.

Great ingenuity! Sure beats the "Dad, we need money" speech.
