Countdown to summer
Well, every year it seems to me that winter ends early here in Dallas...I imagine that having spent the "formative" years in Connecticut, seeing daffodils appear in the fields in February seems somehow not right. But those flowers have been and gone. The Bradford pear trees have all turned to leaves and no longer resemble huge cotton balls in toothpicks. Hey! Maybe THAT'S where the idea for a Q-Tip came from...
Right now, the beautiful purple blooms of the red bud trees are marking time. I still don't know why they call them that if the flowers are purple but oh, well.
It was a pretty mild winter overall and I am glad for that. It won't be long until we have those 90 plus degree days back and frankly, while I will be surprised in May when the temp consistently rises above that mark, it can't get here soon enough!
As Leslie says, Texas has 2 seasons....summer and "not summer"
Works for me.

Spring has come, and though it's been a very mild winter up here, we've got our own version of 2 seasons going on -- winter and not winter. Right now we haven't reached not winter. Snowflakes were mixed in with the raindrops at times today...
that is almost as considerate and nice of you to cheer me up with as your last couple NCAA brackets!
thanks!
You're not gonna win the pool either. And a PREACHER is....
