march madness

i admit it. i am a college basketball junkie. i love this week every year, when some schools from unknown parts get the chance to put themselves on the national news with an upset over one of the big time programs....

I agree. The first weekend is the best four days in sports, IMO.

I usually try to take off from work the Thursday or Friday when the tourney begins, or better yet, both days (like that happens!) didn't get to this year and I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms....quick, someone hand me the remote

dusty, the only important thing about the bracket (graph) is that mine come out better than wake's!

The best thing about the first two rounds is that it made Billy Packer and Jim Nantz look like complete buffoons for their comments last Sunday.

Hey Bruce,
I'd have thought you'd be an ACC guy and would love Billy Packer who doesn't even know there are great basketball teams beyond Tobacco Road. As for Nantz, let's just call it a brain fart.

wake- I used to like Packer when he did the ACC games with the late Jim Thacker. But once he went big-time, and started thinking he knew everything, I lost all respect for him. The only thing I agree with him on is that Vitale is an idiot..

oh, but Dickie V. is such a happy idiot. a guy like that you just gotta love....you never take him seriously or figure he actually even knows anything....but ya gotta love him just for the pure joyous idiocy. It's how REd Sox fans deal with Manny being Manny.

I love March Madness, which is funny becauase I'm *so* not a sports fan. What I love about it is that my office has a pool every year, and since I am apparently the only person capable of maintaining an excel spreadsheet to track everyone's picks and scores, they give me a cut of the profits for doing all the tabulations. Who knew simple math could be so profitable!
