Accent? What accent?
I have lived in Texas more years than I lived in Connecticut. But people here still ask me where I'm from. Yeah, right, like I have an accent......
Where you from?
That link is an online test that will compute your origins based on pronounciation and word usage. It seems our parents definitely have long lasting influences....
My results -- 34% Dixie. You are definitely a Yankee.

I was 55% Dixie, that was fun.
68% Dixie. Just under the Mason-Dixon Line
Thats a friggin lie!!!
:p
52% Dixie. Barely in Dixie
That's not right either. They didn't have some of what I (we) say. Like "What's a drive through liquor store called?" A freakin' drive through!!
And we say "auntie" pronounced "antie." And "tenny shoes" not tennis. I say icing and frosting and that wasn't an option.
I'm an alien.
52% Dixie. Barely in Dixie. Even after living in VA for 46 years, I still have a lot of my NY roots.
37% Dixie. You are definitely a Yankee.
That's weird because I grew up in Houston, lived in Tulsa for 10 years, and am now back in Texas near Houston. I noticed some of my answers said "local in Houston but mostly northeastern states" and the others simply said "most common throughout the US".
That was fun! Let's play another!
18% Dixie, but like Jenn, I'm an alien. A lot of the answers I would have given weren't there: like Beer Barn, which would have raised my Texas quotient I'm sure.
FYI, my wife scored 79% Dixie. Big surprise for a woman born in Dallas, huh?
To all you aliens, at least you aren't illegal
I"m 37 dixie...seems about right. I keep trying to get into to that southern belle school...they just don't want hard headed yankee girls~
