This one is very cool...

Sometimes there are good ideas and sometimes there are bad ideas.
This one is a good idea. Click on the "Start Listening" button for Van Halen songs, redone in a tribute album in BLUEGRASS!
David Lee Roth sings on several tracks, the voice is unmistakable.
Check it out.
It turns out the songs were pretty good songs - they sound good in this format too. Although there is something that feels decadent about hearing Ice Cream Man in bluegrass.

WOW!

I found a bluegrass version of Crazy Train a couple of years ago & thought I had heard it all.

What a strange way to ruin perfectly good music.

Power chords in bluegrass - hmm? Not sure it works. Definitely didn't work for Jump, was ok for Runnin with the Devil. Jamie's Cryin was actually good.

Yeah, after about 10 minutes I was sick to my stomach & had to stop it. I actually like bluegrass music a lot, and that was an afront to all blugrass everywhere.

I heard most of these songs on Don and Mike last week, and couldn't believe it. I know there's Hayseed Dixie out there covering AC/DC in the bluegrass format, but it's all done with tongue firmly planted in cheek. The fact that Dave performed on some of the songs made me cringe. Oh, how the mighty have fallen...
