Thanks to Mr. Rat for this picture. A few commented on it. Here's what I said:

kind of like it...
I wonder if she's reading; she's obviously awake. I think she knows the clown is there. She complains about him at work, "There's this fucking clown that is always looking at me!"
Her girlfriends all give her sympathy.
"I hate that!"
"They creep me out, too."
But she'll be back tomorrow while the clown gets pickled...paying too much for drinks, just to look. And wish..

Most of Rat's commentators thought I was joking. But I wonder if the women realize how close this is to reality. I was not a mover (playa) back in the day. I was scared of girls/young women and the potential for rejection. Because of the insecurity, it was far easier to be loaded and looking. Budweiser never told me it had to wash its hair.
A few years ago, my brother-in-law was in charge of an insurance/financial services company's Y2K preparation/evaluation. He called that he was coming to Dallas. He also mentioned that one of the contractors he was bringing knew me. We had dinner (four of us) and the contractor was a woman who went to my high school. She was 2 years older than me. Part of a clic of "untouchables" in my mind. Turns out several of them were "available" to me. Go figure.
Water under the bridge and I'm thrilled with my life now.
But to you young ladies out there (you know who you are)- pay attention to the good guys that are around. Let 'em know they may have a chance. Lord knows we need the help...

With God on our side...

God Bless America
If you live in the US, you have seen the magnets or bumper stickers on the cars. Usually next to a Support the Troops or Bush04 sticker, but many times not. This is not a GOP-exclusive issue or wish.
But it makes me wonder - does God really bestow blessings on a country? And if so, why America instead of Iraq?
There are extremists on both sides of the conflict that believe God to be on their side. Annamaria points out that there are well respected Christian leaders that have said Islam is evil. We know the way America is portrayed in the Arab world.
I love God and cannot begin to imagine the amount of audacity it would take to proclaim His intent and desire.
Help on this is appreciated. How can I show the love of God if I say there are others whose lives are worthless because of their ideology or theology?
We don't need name calling or rhetoric, though. That is rarely helpful.
