Wow! The Rangers pony up.....

and could it be a culture shift?
Unconfirmed reports are saying the Texas Rangers have agreed to a new contract with shortstop Michael Young that will keep him a Ranger for life. A reported deal for $80 million is all but done, a deal that will net the former American League batting champion $18 mil per year.
I have always liked Mr. Young's attitude and leadership. He also plays the game the right way.
The Rangers have not been known as a team that works to keep its own. I hope this marks a new beginning for them. Maybe we can start playing meaningful games in September and October instead of just marking time until the Cowboys and Mavericks get their seasons going....
